Warrior


Warrior. The most all around front line Damage Dealer. The one, true benefit to Warrior is it has the most broad range to weapons to use, although its highest skill level is in Great Axe and Axe. Warrior / Ninjas was the hype in the past, dual weilding Axes or Axe with Joyuse / Ridill offhand. As compared to DoT of a Monk, Warrior / Ninja is close behind.

Now, since the 2 handed damage increase it is arguable that Warrior now outdamages Monk as well as other Damage Dealer jobs. This also leads to new subs used commonly for 2 handed setups: Thief and Samurai. Samurai subbed will give you both defensive capabilities (seigan, third eye), offensive (Hasso) and TP increase (Meditate, Store TP). Thief is very popular for the spike damage, reaching over 2,000 steel cyclones is not uncommon.

For those starting out or planning on expanding their melee jobs I'd strongly recommend leveling Warrior to 75 first. This allows you to get all melee weapon skills leveled up a good ways to various degrees, it will also allow you to merit those skill for your future new job. It gives you many weapon type options in which you have to meet a special condition. Finally, has a good balance of Attack over Defense.
